How The Raw Root Co. came to be
The Raw Root Co. was not born from a desire to have a company or make a profit. It just seemed a natural step so others could experience the benefits of my products, as I and my family have.
Whilst in generally good health, throughout most of my adult life I have lived with two chronic conditions, ulcerative colitis and ankylosing spondilitis. These are both inflammatory conditions which cannot be cured, but they can and need to be managed. The traditional medical management involves various medications most of which I have been on at some point. The long term use of any medication has always been something I wanted to avoid and this led me to researching natural remedies. I strongly believe that to treat any condition, the method needs to be holistic. So diet, exercise and general lifestyle can all impact the results. I'm not going to expand on this here as it is somewhat of a rabbit hole of considerable depth!
However, in my research into natural products that could help with inflammatory conditions, Turmeric came up again and again. Asian cultures have understood the power of turmeric for centuries, but in my Danish childhood and subsequent 25 years in England, Turmeric wasn't an ingredient I was often exposed to!
I began to experiment making Turmeric shots at home, discovering Turmeric shots look a lot nicer than they taste! After many different recipes (and unhappy guinea pig testers in the family lol) I finally produced something that had all the benefits of Turmeric, a kick of ginger and was friendly to my palate :-). After a couple of months of taking a shot every day, it was clear to me the benefits were undeniable. I started giving a bottle here and there to friends and family and I was getting very positive feedback. On the back of this The Raw Root Co. was formed.
I personally have found these shots of great benefit in managing my own conditions and they are now part of my daily routine. One shot before my morning coffee and I'm ready for the day.
